Open House Information for the 2026-2027 School Year.

Our students had an amazing time celebrating the end of the school year with class field trips this past week! Our 6th graders enjoyed a fun-filled day at Malibu Jacks, 5th grade explored the Louisville Zoo, and 4th grade adventured through Squire Boone Caverns. We are so proud of how well all of our students represented Flaherty Elementary while making memories with their classmates!

Tomorrow is Domino's Pizza Day! Feel free to send cash or check with your student for an additional piece of delicious pizza for only $2! Please have the money in a bag WITH the students name and teacher name on it.

On Thursday, May 7th, the FES Greenhouse will be open during the school day so that our students can shop for those special people for Mother’s Day. We have a large selection of plants available. Prices of individual plants range from $1-$4, and our hanging baskets are $20. We have small patio pots for $20 and large patio pots for $30.

We will also have Greenhouse Sales open to the public again on Saturday, May 9th.

💜 Purple Up Month May Be Ending, But Our Support Continues! 💜
As our Military-Connected Month comes to a close, we want to remind our students and families that our appreciation doesn’t stop here. We are already excited and looking ahead, brainstorming ways to make next year’s celebration even more meaningful!
This past April was filled with special moments that brought our community together:
🎉HUGE thank you to VFW Post 10281 for sponsoring our parade, treats, and goodies!
🎉 Weekly fun fact announcements helped us learn more about and appreciate military life
🎉 Over 30 students proudly participated in our campus-wide Purple Up Parade
🎉 Delicious snacks were generously provided by our very own MCHS Culinary Students!!
🎉 Our 6th grade leaders shared a meaningful story with the group
🎉 Students received small gifts to symbolize just how important they are to us
Thank you to everyone who helped make this month so memorable. We are proud to support and celebrate our military-connected students—not just in April, but all year long! 💜

All FES library books are due back May 4. Please take a moment to check at home and return any books to help us get ready for the end of the school year.

Our Greenhouse students and staff have been hard at work this season. We have a variety of plants- flowers and vegetables- available for sale!
The FES Greenhouse is located on the backside of campus in-between playgrounds. See you this weekend!

Ms. Hobbs, one day Principal, didn’t miss a beat with her pen behind her ear and pride passes in her pocket ready to serve students all day!!! She started her day leading our school in the Pledge of Alliance!
Ms. Briles also did an amazing job as our proud counselor, supporting Mrs. King every step of the way! The girls picked an eventful day with a grand finale of a beach theme flash mob dance!!
We loved seeing their confidence, leadership, and a whole lot of personality shine through today. Future principals and counselors in the making? We think so! 👀✨

We are excited to share the candidates nominated to serve as Parent/Guardian Representatives on the FES SBDM Council for the 2026–2027 school year!

All parents/guardians of students who will be entering grades 4–6 for the 26/27 school year are eligible to vote. Each voter will select two candidates from the list below. You can also view the ballot here: https://tinyurl.com/FESSBDMELEC.

You can vote in our FES front office on Wednesday, April 29th from 7:30-3:30.

We encourage all eligible families to participate and have a voice in helping guide the future of our school!

Our KSA testing window will take place from April 24 to May 1. This is an important time for our students to show all they’ve learned this year!

Tuesday is the final day to complete an SBDM or PTO nomination form. Please consider becoming a part of one of these groups; they both play an essential role in supporting our students and staff.

We celebrated Purple Up on Wednesday with a campus-wide parade, a shared book experience from our 6th-grade leaders, and delicious purple treats prepared by our talented MCHS culinary students!! We’re grateful for our amazing students and families for their service and sacrifice for our country. 💜
