Happy School Counselor week to Mrs. Bogard who always shows up for kids! She is a caring listener, supportive friend, and advocate for every child, every day! Thank you for all that you do for our staff and students!

Last week was supposed to be library week and all grades would have exchanged books. However as we all know, that didn't happen! So, even though this is a computer lab week, all grades, K-3 will have the option of exchanging books. Even if we are delayed and miss certain classes, we will find a way to work them in to exchange books, so have them return their books anyway.

𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝗧𝘄𝗼-𝗛𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘆 – 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 2, 2026 Meade County Schools will be open for in-person instruction tomorrow, Monday, February 2, 2026, with a two-hour delay. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀: • School Start Time: All school operations will begin two hours later than normal • AM Preschool: Canceled • PM Preschool: Normal schedule • Bus Routes: Buses will run on a two-hour delay. Some roads will not be traveled due to ongoing road conditions still impacted by last week’s winter weather. Families affected will be notified by their driver by phone or via the Meade County Schools app this evening. • Car Riders: To assist families affected by limited bus routes, we are opening car rider lines at 8:45 am to allow for early drop-off if needed. Thank you for your flexibility and continued partnership as we prioritize student safety and learning.

𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 – 𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 & 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 29–30 Meade County Schools will be closed for all students on Thursday and Friday, January 29 and 30, 2026. Students will not have assignments to complete on either day. We are targeting an in-person return to school on Monday, February 2. Families will receive an update on Sunday evening with any adjustments to this plan based on weather and road conditions. 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀: Monday, February 16, 2026, which was previously scheduled as a Professional Learning Day for teachers, will now be a regular school day. Students will report to school on Monday, February 16th. Please mark your calendars. This change allows us to prioritize an additional in-person instructional day with students. All staff members should check their email for staff work expectations. Thank you for your continued flexibility as we continue to navigate this winter season.

— NTI Days for Meade County Schools: Monday, January 26 – Wednesday, January 28, 2026 — As our community continues to recover from this winter weather event, Meade County Schools is sharing our instructional plan for the upcoming week. Meade County Schools will be closed for in-person instruction on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (January 26, 27, and 28, 2026). These days will be NTI Virtual Learning Days for all students and staff. - Students may access their assignments through the Meade County NTI Portal. - All assignments will be posted by 8:30 a.m. each day. - All work should be submitted electronically or returned on the next school day. 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀: These three days will be the only NTI days used this week. We understand the added responsibility NTI places on families, and we are committed to limiting that burden. At this time, no changes have been made to the schedule for Thursday or Friday. If additional school days are missed later in the week due to road conditions, we will explore alternative options for those days. 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲: At this time, all school buildings and parking lots remain closed. All events, practices, and extracurricular activities are canceled until further notice.
